RENATO D'AIELLO

Sax player /composer

In 1979 began to study the saxophone with Antonio Andolfi, then with Sal Nestico and Steve Grossman.

He started his professional career playing with Giovanni Tommaso big band for a tv program in 1986. ln 1987 he received a full tuition scolarship from Berklee college of Boston.

International tours followed in 1991 with Tony Scott and the following year Renato toured Japan with Yoshida Masahiro trio.

ln 1993 and l 995 he toured Japan again. Tours of Europe with Art Farmer and Rachel Gould in 1996/97. His composition credits include music for an opera entitled "Seven Red Doors" and several co-productions for IRMA records as sax player/producer.

Renato is now resident in London and has played with a number of world class musicians in his career, including Keith Copeland, Andy Farber,Gene Calderazzo, Phil Lee, Sax Appeal, C.Tracey, D.Green, G.Husband, P.Jacobsen, S.Melling, J.Chritchinson, Gilad Atzmon, Spike Robinson, P.Robson, Damon Brown, Alec Dankworth.

He is been playing in few festivals like ;Appleby, Swanage, Weymouth, Hawick,Cheltenam,and some major venues like Bonnington teathre,The Fleece, South Somerset, Band on the wall,Royal festival Hall, Barbican.

In 2000 he recorded as a sideman with Damon Brown and as leader the cd "Like Someone in Love". In 200t he recorded a new cd for Spotlite records with Gary Husband, Phil Lee, NI.Bassey, N.Muresu,andS.deKroom.
